POLMO offers the service of carburising and carbonitriding. Performed in our furnace chambers with the controlled atmospheric condition allow the use of the modern technologies of heat and thermo-chemical load in the range between 750-950° C. Computer aided control and parameters registration tools guarantee the highest quality and durability of the process line.

Our department of the heat treatments undertakes the following processes (using furnaces with the protective nitrogen atmosphere):

  • Gas carburising is carried out at a temperature range of 850-950°C, in the presence of nitrogen, cooled rapidly by quenching in a liquid salt bath
  • Gas carbonitriding is carried out at a temperature range of 780-900°C, in the presence of nitrogen, with the addition of ammonia and other organic compounds, cooled rapidly by quenching in a liquid bath
  • Quench oil is used to cool hot metal, which facilitates hardening of steel by controlling heat transfer during quenching
  • Tempering heat preparation with the temperature up to 780-950°C
  • Annealing, normalisation at a temperature 650-850°C
  • The maximum feed size width 600 mm, hight 400 mm, length 900 mm
  • We use quench oil to cool hot metal. It facilitates hardening of steel by controlling heat transfer during quenching
  • Hydraulic press oil quenching
  • Salt water bath quenching
  • Tempering within low-, medium-, and high- temperature
  • Spray cleaning in a washing chamber
  • Straightening and shape reconstruction of long parts exposed to heat treatment deformation

The main advantage of the heat treatment process using our technology is to achieve an optimum hardness level, impact strength and increase the resulting part’s resistance to softening during tempering. This process minimises the follow-up treatment stresses.

Typical applications for case hardening are gear teeth, shafts, automotive clutch plates, bearings, etc.
